Back again

My computer has really been acting up lately and I’ve simply been much to busy to sort it out. Anyway, I’ve got it working for now so here’s a few things of interest:
Found at stairwell to a cellar near Biocity Aarhus
Artist: R-Galt

Monday evening I was standing on Vejle Railway station freezing my ass off, ’cause it just missed my train and had to wait an hour for the next one. I notice I’m standing on a folded piece of paper and my curiosity takes over. I pick it up and it turns out to be a girl that wants somebody to dance with for the winter ball. I thought it cool enough show you guys.

Hej, vil du danse med mig til vinterbal, du skal helst være 1.75 og maskulin + attraktiv

That’s all for now – If everthing goes well my second piece will be on the streets tonight

All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter

More streetart. And much more to come. The city is teeming.
I’ve finished my second piece and it’s ready to be pasted up. Unfortunately the city tends to be swarming with people on the weekends so I guess it’ll see the sunrise in a few days, when drunk people are less likely to disturb me.
It’s a piece about distances breaking up people and I’ve let this one be inspired by the simplicity of Kissmama’s work. Hope you’ll enjoy it when it hits the streets.
The pictures below are from this weeks street art hunt.

I’m a sucker for these mysterious ones

I love the level of detail in this one. Plus now we need know the size of R-Galt’s hands.

I’ve spotted a few of these asian-looking paste-ups around the city. Will shoot some more of them as soon as I get the chance.
Artist: R-Galt (At least i think?)
Location: Nørregade close to ze baker.
This is an old piece by R-Galt. Before he added the “R” maybe?
A virgin no more

I just put up my first piece.
I wanted it to be subtle and neat and I think I accomplished just that.
I’ve written Mormor and Kissmama for advice on paper and paste and they’ve both been kind enough to grace me with replies. Thank you both. However, I’m almost certain I still managed to fuck it up, but that’s all part of the beauty of trial and error. I’ve finished my next two pieces but I really need to make sure the paste is better next time, since they’re both around 4 times as big.
Hope you will enjoy it as much as I have making it.

I’m gonna start this post by asking your forgiveness.
I was out the day before yesterday with my camera. Unfortunately for you guys I also had company and so while I was snapping photos of the pieces I saw, I was also keeping track of and participating in a conversation so I didn’t even think of writing down the location when I took a pic. However, I CAN tell you that they’re were all taken somewhere in downtown Aarhus. Around Åboulevarden, Nørreport, Vesterbro Torv, Ny Munkegade and so on.
I’m gonna start with the stuff I found from Mormor:
I think I found this around Døgnkiosken on Nørregade
Caption: ‘Ond Kvinde’
So far this is my favorite piece from Mormor. For 3 reasons: The location, the message and the size. It’s the biggest Mormor piece I’ve found so far, It’s located high up on the side of a building near Biocity and then the message: ‘Unge mand. Har du husket at lave din gadekunst idag?’
Not much variety, but what the hell.
At least I remember this one since I pass it almost daily. It’s found at Ny Munkegade near that white Youth Christian Something Something-building that’s just begging to be turned into a stencil.
Caption: ‘Okay okay, Det var min ide at din mor skulle have alle de tatoveringer.’
Will post the rest of the pics tomorrow.

About who?
september 21, 2009
I finally got around to typing a few words in the “about” tab to the right –>
If you’re left with a question you’re always welcome to write me on:
On an unrelated note: I’ve just bought some new markers of the brand ‘Posca’. I ran into some trouble when finishing up a piece, so now I’m tryin’ on these for size. Hopefully they won’t fail me like my old ones did. If YOU have a particular brand of markers or paper or whatever. Then by all means: Leave a reply.

To the right, to the right

Under ‘Links’ to the right I’ve added 3 new must-see links.
Banksy – The world famous / infamous british street-artist that does absolutely incredible stencils and wall-paintings!
Basco Five – Danish street artist the continues to amaze with his briliant work with colours.
Don Jon – Local street artist with cutting edge stencils (get it?).
Just thought I’d share

Blanko
september 20, 2009
Yesterday I found this little piece of stencil on paper done by the artist Blanko
I failed miserably in jotting down the location, so you’ll have to snoop around downtown Aarhus by yourself, if you wanna enjoy it in person.
Motive appears to be a butterfly or a moth. Possibly inspired by Flottenheimer? Or perhaps the other way around.
Much more to come!

Benches!
september 19, 2009
Two super cool benches with different messages have been installed by unknown street-artists in Klostergade, Aarhus.
The following comment is copy-pasted from Politiken’s street art blog: (Link to the Right)
Quality of the pictures may vary due to poor lighting.

Mormor
september 19, 2009
If only you’d haul your ass outta your easy chair and leave your cozy homes for just a second, you’d discover some of the amazing things done by streetartist in your area.
The pieces below are done by the Danish street artist Mormor, and his work can be found all over Aarhus.
More pics to come
